Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Set up burning machine, select proper burning tip, set gas flow and machine feed rates, determine cutting locations, line dimensions, tolerances, operational sequences, and use gauges, calipers, squares, rulers for measurement.
- Set up and align specified material or fixtures in the machine bed using gauges, templates, shims, or hand tools.
- Select correct material according to work order. Inspect plates for thickness, length, width, heat number, grade, and color code.
- Coordinate and execute material handling, including operation of overhead crane.
- Review CAD drawings, work orders, tooling instructions, or other specifications.
- Perform quality control inspections on finished products for ISO-certification.
- Stack, band, and palletize finished products for shipment.
- Operate forklift and overhead crane as part of warehouse duties.
Qualifications:
- High School/Technical School Graduate with basic English reading & writing skills
- Basic arithmetic skills for calculating and converting decimals and fractions
- Basic measuring skills to read English & Metric systems using a tape measure, caliper, or micrometer
- Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, hand tools, and shop machinery
- Basic computer knowledge
- Understanding and adherence to safety rules, procedures, OSHA standards
- Good judgment and ability to recognize applicable company policies
- Ability to understand customer packaging requirements and assess product quality
- Teamwork skills
- Valid OSHA Forklift & Overhead Crane Certificates preferred
