Job summary

Kelly Services in Hastings, Nebraska is seeking a Machine Operator to set up, operate, and maintain manual or computerized machinery and hand tools to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.

This 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 5:30 am–4:00 pm) role offers up to $18.50 per hour under a 6‑month W2 contract with potential conversion based on performance, plus comprehensive benefits and opportunities for training and growth.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma/GED and 0–2 years in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic shop math, blueprint reading, teamwork, and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Production: Run, inspect, and maintain machines; troubleshoot minor production issues.
  • Logistics: Move materials and parts using forklifts and power lift trucks.
  • Documentation: Follow blueprints and route sheets; train new operators.
  • Safety: Adhere strictly to safety protocols and compliance guidelines.

Role Overview

The Machine Operator sets up, operates, and maintains manual or computerized machinery and hand tools while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production.

**- Location: ** Hastings, NE 68901

- Work Schedule: Mon to Fri, 1st shift: 5:30 am to 4 pm

- Hourly rate: up to $18.50/h

- Contract: W2 contract under staffing supplier, with 6‑month duration (possible conversion according to performance)

Key Responsibilities
  • Production: Run, inspect, and maintain machines; troubleshoot minor production issues.

  • Logistics: Move materials and parts using forklifts and power lift trucks.

  • Documentation: Follow blueprints and route sheets; train new operators.

  • Safety: Adhere strictly to safety protocols and compliance guidelines.

Requirements & Skills
  • Experience: HS Diploma/GED and 0–2 years in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Credentials: Forklift certification required.

  • Physical: Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
