Machine Operator - 1st Shift (Finance)

The following responsibilities and qualifications are essential for the Machine Operator position:

• Operate cutting machines, laser/plasma, press machines, saws, and manual cutting tools.
• Control and adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely manner.
• Read drawings and understand basic dimensions.
• Perform rework and repair tasks.
• Inspect machined parts and use measuring equipment to verify conformance to specifications.
• Load and unload components and tooling.
• Maintain daily time records.
• Support APS (Altec Production System) initiatives and participate in continuous improvement events.
• Cross-train by moving to other work areas to support production needs.
• Assist and train new and current associates effectively.
• Follow established safety, environmental, and quality policies, including proper PPE use.
• Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment.
• Show commitment to Altec's core values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

Applicants must:

• Possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Be able to read, write, and comprehend.
• Have basic computer skills.
• Know how to use measuring equipment and general hand tools.
• Perform moderate math calculations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience operating laser, plasma, press-brake, or saw machines.
