Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials NA is seeking a Machine Operator for 1st shift to process materials per work orders and operate material handling equipment. You will maintain a clean, safe work area and ensure accurate information entry and measurement recording on the shop floor.

The role emphasizes attention to safety, meeting production targets, and working directly on heavy machinery on the warehouse floor. Prior forklift experience and basic math are beneficial for success.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Apply plastic to customer orders and accurately process material according to work orders.
• Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
• Maintain processing area in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
• Enter information accurately and record measurements as required.
• Assist in lean and quality activities and train others when required.
• Support packaging of material and ensure accurate identification tagging.

Job Description

We are hiring a Machine Operator on 1st shift. Pay $18-$22 per hour.

Key Accountabilities

• Must be certified in the material handler position.
• Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
• Pull, inspect and verify product before processing.
• Properly and safely set up equipment to run material to set up note specifications.
• Process set up notes according to work order specifications.
• Verify that product meets set up note specifications per written work instructions and record measurements (sampling plan).
• Communicate with appropriate sales representative regarding changes/clarification to orders.
• Perform equipment preventive maintenance; Perform general clean-up.
• Properly enter/delete material identification tags per written instructions.
• Assist in the packaging of material per written work instructions and work order.
• Maintain issued measurement equipment in working condition.
• Properly operate weighing scale and record inspection measurements.
• Identify, record, and segregate scrap and any non-conforming material.
• Provide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality.
• Complete job responsibilities in a manner that does not put him/herself or other individuals in an unsafe situation.
• Train others when required.
• Assist in any activities related to lean and/or quality.
• This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery.

Minimum Requirements

• An individual must posses a high school diploma/ GED
• Ability to read and write
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs

Preferred Requirements

• Previous warehouse experience - especially in the plastics industry
• Previous forklift experience
• Use of hand held measuring tools
• Computer literate.
