Position Title: Machine Operator
Wage: $17.50 per hour
Shift: 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm; 3:00pm-11:00pm; 11:00pm-7:00am
QPS Employment Group has a great Machine Operator position available at a company in Rockford, IL. This is a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift position with the opportunity for hire.
Machine Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operates plastic molding equipment. Performs such functions as bulk packing and/or stacking product. Acts as machine observer, watching for malfunctions.
- May assist Division Clerk with inventory and cycle counting of materials and supplies.
- Checks and assists with filling out operator production cards for accuracy.
- May be called upon to assist in coordinating new product line set-ups and operating procedures.
- Trains and assists with the training of new and present operators on new and present jobs, ISO, and PMO standards and procedures. Records trained operator status on individual training matrixes.
- May perform other such functions as hand, scoop or fork packing and sorting. May assemble cartons or bags for packing product. Stacks cartons or bags of completed product when required.
- Alerts set-up or supervisory personnel when machine malfunctions occur.
- Checks machine product for quality, gauging and scanning for quality. Read and follow central plans.
- Works with parts or material which could weigh up to approximately 40 lbs. Most of time is working with parts under five (5) lbs.
- Must observe machine safety rules at all times and report unsafe operations to supervision.
- Works standing and walking most of the time.
- Must be knowledgeable with Plastic's ISO procedures and work instruction.
- Delivers appropriate levels of work-in-process materials to production lines, i.e., plastic material.
- Fills machine hoppers with specified amounts of plastic material.
- Supplies production lines with packing materials including cases, bags, inserts, tape, glue, labels and stenciling equipment.
- Assemblers cases as required by stitching, taping and/or glueing.
- Seals packed cases. Affixes labels or stencils as required. Straps pallet loads and delivers to designated staging areas. Verifies all identification as to correctness and location.
- Delivers scrap materials to designated area.
- Mixes virgin plastic material and concentrate in proper proportions to meet product specification for color.
- Stores incoming plastic and packaging material in designated locations.
- Operates a power lift truck on occasion to perform responsibilities.
- Keeps work area clean, orderly and free of obstruction.
Machine Operator Requirements:
- Requires pushing, pulling or lifting objects weighing up to approximately 60 lbs.
