Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Machine Operator in Owego, NY, for a weekend shift (Thu-Sun, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM). You will operate light-duty bench and floor-type machines and set up equipment to support aerospace component production with precision and safety.

Responsibilities include performing routine maintenance, inspecting parts with gauges and measuring tools, following SPC and quality procedures, and collaborating with the team to meet production goals in a clean, safe, and organized work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to operate manufacturing equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions and specifications.

Position Details

• Job Title: Machine Operator
• Location: Owego, NY
• Schedule: Weekend Shift | Thursday - Sunday | 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Pay Rate: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
• Job Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Assignment

What You'll Do

• Operate light-duty bench and floor-type machine tools and equipment
• Work with machinery such as:
  • Small lathes
  • Power mills
  • Extruding machines
  • Drills and punch presses
  • Power brakes
  • Shears and saws
• Set up machines and make necessary operational adjustments
• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
• Inspect finished work using gauges, jigs, fixtures, and precision measuring tools
• Verify products meet close-tolerance specifications and quality standards
• Operate and monitor numerically controlled machinery when applicable
• Follow statistical process control and other quality control procedures
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Collaborate with team members to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to operate manufacturing or machining equipment safely and effectively
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions and specifications
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to use measuring tools and quality inspection equipment
• Ability to stand, move, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
• Strong dependability and attendance record

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous machine operation or manufacturing experience
• Experience working with CNC or numerically controlled equipment
• Familiarity with aerospace, aviation, or precision manufacturing environments
• Experience inspecting parts using gauges, jigs, fixtures, or precision measurement tools
• Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and quality assurance procedures

Pay Details:

$18.00 to $20.00 per hour
