Job summary

Elgen Staffing seeks a seasoned Machine Operator for our client in Springfield, NJ. You will operate manual and CNC machines, set up tooling, and maintain tolerances to ensure quality throughout the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities include setup, inspection, occasional welding, and sub-assembly tasks. The role requires strong communication and a solid background in machining operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years’ experience as a general machine shop operator and demonstrated skills.
• Familiar with Machine Shop procedures, special processes, and tooling.
• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
• All work is performed under the minimum supervision of the Manager and/or Supervisor, as required.
• Knowledge of Machining or Manufacturing operations is beneficial.

• Sets up manual machines where speeds feeds and sequence of tooling operations are ordinarily prescribed.
• Operates numerically controlled machines where programs are proved.
• Sets up and operates other manual machines in the work area and maintains tolerances by adjusting as necessary.
• Is responsible for inspecting the work to ensure it meets basic quality requirements.
• Can perform detailed sub-assembly functions for certain products.
• Operates automatic welding equipment.
• Sharpens drill tools on grinding wheel as necessary.
• May be required to perform other duties as directed by supervision.

Our client, an industry leading manufacturer of precision metal and steel components, has an immediate need for an experienced Machine Operator, to join their winning team in Springfield.

Our candidate of choice will operate manual or numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard sequences of operations and be responsible for setting up manual machines where speeds feeds and sequence of tooling operations are ordinarily prescribed.
