Job description

As an Operator, you will operate machinery or utilize equipment to produce components to specified dimensions and characteristics according to quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate required machines or equipment to produce a diversified range of parts on short or long run work, and exacting finish specifications. Follow established procedures, verbal instructions, and information obtained from set‑up cards and layout sheets (certified process or engineered cycles) to ensure parts are manufactured per process and drawing requirements.
  • Replace worn tooling and adjust machines as needed.
  • Use micrometers, verniers, optical comparator, microscope, and a variety of fixed and adjustable gauges to set‑up equipment and check work. Review calibration of all measuring equipment. Patrol machines using the 4‑bin system.
  • Operate automation equipment and provide minor troubleshooting within work area as assigned.
  • Diagnose and correct operating difficulties, maintain required records, detect and report unusual conditions to assigned leader.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly, observing all safety rules and regulations, and conforming to OSHA regulations.
  • Move materials, parts, and containers, as required, to complete job duties.
Job Skills and Abilities
  • Read, reference and interpret written and verbal instructions; always following established standard procedures.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculation, maintain an understanding of standard and metric system.
  • Maintain established production levels and quality standards.
  • Recognize and report any irregularities as to fits, defective parts, finishes, work techniques and/or quality of workmanship.
  • Maintain necessary records; work is subject to audited inspections.
Education and Experience Required
  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, grab, twist, carry, push and pull.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
