You will be actively involved in operating machinery to produce our products. This includes interfacing with control panels or manually adjusting machine components to meet quality standards across various parts. The role offers opportunities to develop intermediate machining skills and work with different materials. Cross-training and learning multiple machine types can help you advance your machining career to support our business needs.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Operate machinery and move materials to machine based on pre-set programs or settings.
2. Make simple and intermediate adjustments to machines, tools, or fixturing to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
3. Complete work according to specifications, drawings, job routings, and work instructions with minimal assistance.
4. Use gauges and measuring equipment to ensure products meet specifications, and report any issues with gauges or calibration.
5. Maintain equipment and materials necessary for operations.
6. Meet safety, quality, and performance standards to ensure production schedules are achieved.
7. Accurately record information on manufacturing orders, quality check sheets, and other documentation, maintaining proper inventory and records.
8. Follow safety procedures, quality standards, and 5S standards; report any adverse conditions or violations.
9. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, adhering to 5S standards and suggesting improvements.
10. Notify team leaders of issues related to safety, quality, equipment, or operations in accordance with escalation procedures.
11. Perform rotational assignments as needed, learn different machine types, and participate in continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ideally 2+ years of manufacturing or machine operation experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills
• Knowledge of metal or graphite cutting processes
• Understanding of inspection gauges such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, go/no-go gauges
• Ability to bend, squat, reach, climb stairs/ladders, lift at least 25 pounds, and work in confined spaces
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented
