Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Cutting Operator. The Print Finishing and Bindery personnel operate various machines in the finishing department to meet or exceed department expectations. Responsibilities include cutting, folding, laminating, padding, stitching, die cutting, i-cutting, kit packing, and shrink wrapping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operate print finishing and bindery equipment, including cutters, laminators, folders, padder, die cutters, i-cut, shrink wrapper, slitter, and sheeter.
2. Read and interpret job tickets thoroughly before starting tasks.
3. Inspect each printed piece for quality control.
4. Complete tasks in a timely manner.
5. Maintain a safe and clean work area.
6. Store materials properly to promote cleanliness.
7. Use supplies cost-effectively.
8. Adhere to productivity standards, SOPs, safety protocols, 6S, and PPE requirements.
9. Assist in other departments as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 2-3 years related experience/training, or equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand instructions and memos.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to perform basic math operations.
• Knowledge of computer functions for equipment setup and job costing.
• Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions.
• Problem-solving skills involving standard situations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Employees must regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, hear, and climb ladders. Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching are required. Must lift up to 20 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and focus adjustment. The environment may expose employees to fumes, chemicals, heat, and noise levels from moderate to loud. Exposure to extreme temperatures may occur.

Compensation

Up to $17.00 per hour, dependent on skills and experience.
