Position Summary

The Machine Operator / Machinist sets up, maintains, and operates machinery.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle.
2. Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed).
3. Feed raw materials or parts to semi-automated machines.
4. Inspect parts with precision measuring tools.
5. Test machine operation periodically.
6. Address issues that occur during the shift.
7. Check output for machine-related mistakes or flaws.
8. Maintain records of approved and defective units or final products.
9. Keep activity logs.
10. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management; duties may change at any time with or without notice.
11. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a skilled trades field preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to stand for 8-10 hours a day.
• Overtime opportunities may be available.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
• Must be age 18 or older.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

• Millwright or Electrician certification.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, following standardized work and safe practices.
• Proficiency with shop equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, and welders.
• Ability to work with components in constant motion along an assembly line.
• Ability to work collaboratively in close proximity with co-workers.
• Ability to make timely decisions and communicate effectively.
• Strong desire for personal and professional development.
