Job summary

Timken Aurora Bearing Company is seeking 2nd shift Component CNC Machinists to perform a variety of functions in our Component department, while upholding safety, quality and productivity standards. The role requires setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills, reading blueprints, and maintaining SPC records.

You will program for O.D. and I.D. sizes, run first pieces, and adjust processes to ensure prints are met. A HS diploma or equivalent is required, with further trades education preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; trades/tech education preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use gauging equipment.
  • Strong ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate CNC lathes and mills per print specifications.
  • Perform duties safely with emphasis on quality.
  • Program for O.D./I.D. sizing, facing, chamfering, grooving, drilling.
  • Run first piece, adjust to meet quality per print.
  • Load parts, cycle machine, inspect and adjust to maintain quality.
  • Package and tag parts and complete SPC paperwork.
  • Move parts to/from area and wash as needed.
  • Maintain machine fluids and check gauges per specs.
  • Surface or bench grind tooling as required.

Timken Aurora Bearing Company is seeking2nd Shift Component CNC Machinists that will perform a variety of functions within our Component departmentwhile adhering to the safety, quality, and productivity standards of Timken Aurora Bearing Company.

  • Set-up and operate CNC lathes and mills adhering to the safety, quality and quantity standards of Aurora Bearing Company.
  • Perform all duties as assigned in a safe and efficient manner with an emphasis on quality.
  • Select and Change arbors, fixtures, inserts and tooling.
  • Program computer for O.D. and I.D. size, facing, chamfering, grooving, drilling or other machining requirements.
  • Run 1st piece part, make necessary adjustments to attain quality characteristics per print specifications and complete necessary paperwork to attain a set-up approval.
  • Load parts, cycle machine, check parts at designated intervals and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality characteristics of part per print specifications throughout machining operations.
  • Package and tag parts, complete all required paperwork including SPC charting.
  • Move parts to and from work area and scale as needed. Wash parts before running as needed.
  • Maintain all machine fluid levels.
  • Sign out all necessary gauging equipment from Q.A. and set gauges per print specifications.
  • Surface grind and/or bench grind tooling and inserts as needed.

Component CNC Machinist Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary or trades / technical education and certifications preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and shop math competencies
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and utilize various types of gauging equipment
  • Strong ability to follow written and verbal work instructions
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with co‑workers, suppliers, and plant leadership

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $20.50 – $26.18 per hour and is commensurate on experience and education. This full-time position is eligible to participate in the paid time off plan, 401k, and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision.
