Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Machine Operator to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Machining position performs a variety of routine and non-routine machining assignments within the department assigned and ensures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. The operator must be proficient in core business skills including safety compliance, adherence to the code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

Salary: $21.50 - $25/hr DOE

Responsibilities

• Use cutting equipment to prepare specimens for testing according to customer specifications.
• Maintain equipment and schedule preventative maintenance.
• Follow guidance from Department Manager and senior coworkers.
• Record dimensions in accordance with quality assurance requirements.

Skills / Qualifications

• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; college or vocational coursework is a plus.
• Some college coursework or at least 2 years' experience in a machine shop environment.
• Understanding of machining concepts, measuring instruments, and dimensional measurement.
• Preferred: Associate degree in a mechanical-related field.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts is a plus.

Physical Demands:

• Moderate physical effort required.
• Lift less than 50 lbs frequently and more than 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Periodic lifting of 50+ lbs.
