Sonnax Transmission Company, part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings backed by Berkshire Hathaway, is seeking a Machine Operator to join an experienced team in a dynamic, action-oriented Continuous Improvement environment. The role involves setting up and operating manual and semi-CNC machinery to produce automotive aftermarket parts according to print specifications. Machines may include Parts Washer, Bonding, Broach, Induction Heat Treat, Stud Welder, Sand Blaster, and Gear Shapers. Ideal candidates should pay close attention to detail, prioritize workplace safety, and maintain a quality-focused mindset.

Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to understand tolerances.
• Set up various jobs based on setup documentation.
• Perform quality checks and adjust processes to maintain dimensions and tolerances.
• Operate machines safely to meet production requirements.
• Care for all Sonnax tools and equipment properly.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic understanding of mechanical properties.
• Experience with machine operation and reading precision measuring tools.
• Knowledge of basic shop math, including decimal and fraction conversions.
• Operate automatic machines to produce parts within specified tolerances and standard times.

Physical Demands

• No restrictions on PPE, including safety eyewear and safety-toed shoes. Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.

Pay Range

$17.20 - $25.80
