This is a position for a Machine Operator with a company in Columbus, MS.

Job Duties: Monitoring and maintaining production equipment and machinery. Setting up manufacturing equipment. Overseeing training of new machine operators. Good mechanical skills. Quick troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up machinery for operation according to production requirements, ensuring proper calibration for different product specifications.
  • Operate equipment according to management's training and instructions including start up, adjusting machinery to improve performance and removing or installing tooling on equipment.
  • Conduct regular quality checks following all reporting and record keeping procedures, to ensure products meet the established standards. Take corrective actions as needed to maintain quality and report any issues to supervisor or quality team.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to create a secure working environment. Identify and report potential safety hazards.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, output quantities, and quality control measurements by utilizing various computer programs.
  • Work closely with the production team, quality assurance, and maintenance personnel to ensure seamless operations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience.
  • Ability to work a daily scheduled shift, including possible overtime as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of production processes.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement (grams and ounces).
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting.
  • Ability to follow health and safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Ability to work in a team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements/Qualifications: Must have 1-2 years of experience as a machine operator. Must be able to work 48-50 hours a week.
