Position Title: Manufacturing Machine Operator - Night Shift

Location: Athens, GA

Description

Our Manufacturing Machine Operator supports Mativ’s Filtration Advanced Materials Business. This individual will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machine lines, including setup, startup, and effective use of line equipment, auxiliary equipment, tooling changes, monitoring, testing, and production reporting.

The shift hours are 7:45 pm to 8:00 am (night shift), with training during day hours for the first few weeks. Mandatory overtime may be required.

Hourly Pay: $20.70

Responsibilities

• Set up: Read and understand schedule, BOM, SOC; perform all setup functions, select and install proper tooling, ensure correct resin.
• Start Up: Position controls to SOC; activate extruder and drives; test initial product; make adjustments; verify product specs; package product; troubleshoot process; perform QC tests; store finished product; enter data correctly.
• Tooling: Identify damage and wear; clean and return tooling to stock.
• Safety: Follow accident reporting procedures; maintain housekeeping; comply with OSHA and safety requirements; know location of MSDS, first aid supplies, fire extinguishers, exits.
• Physical Demands: Lift a minimum of 75 pounds; work 12-hour shifts; perform repetitive tasks; stand, sit, hear, walk, talk; reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, balance; good vision; meet certification requirements for PIVs.

Qualifications

Preferred:

• Forklift qualified
• Understanding of Data Collection System
• Mechanical background
• Ability to convert between metric and English systems
• Proficient with calipers, micrometers, rulers
• Basic computer and mathematical skills

Work Conditions

Manufacturing environment with variable temperatures, dust, fumes, odors. PPE required includes safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and adherence to dress policies. Physical ability to lift 75 pounds, work 12 hours, perform repetitive tasks, and in awkward spaces. Certification to operate PIVs may be required.
