Starting Pay: $25+/hr

Available Shift: 1st

Position Overview

The Looper Operator maintains a continuous strip of material between the uncoiler and the tube mill to ensure seamless operation. Responsibilities include operating overhead cranes and other equipment for unloading and handling steel coils, operating hydraulic systems, and assisting with mill setup and operation.

Essential Functions

• Weld coils to maintain a continuous material flow between uncoiler and tube mill
• Load and unload steel coils using an overhead crane
• Use measuring tools to ensure product quality
• Assist with mill setup and adjustments
• Keep detailed records of coils used during shifts
• Maintain a clean work environment and operate floor scrubber as needed

Required Qualifications

• 1-3 years relevant experience
• Legible reading and writing skills
• Ability to convert between decimals and fractions
• Experience operating a hand-held overhead crane
• Ability to operate a forklift and obtain a Valmont forklift license within 30 days
• Ability to lift steel coils weighing up to 50 pounds

Highly Qualified

• Experience with welding or cutting equipment such as stick welders, plasma cutters, or torches
• Experience operating overhead cranes
