Job description

Position Title: Manufacturing Machine Operator - Night Shift

Description:

Our Manufacturing Machine Operator supports Mativ’s Filtration & Advanced Materials Business. This individual will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machine lines, including setup, start-up, and effective use of line equipment, auxiliary equipment, tooling changes, monitoring and testing, and production reporting.

The shift hours are from 7:45 pm to 8:00 am (night shift), with training during day hours for the first few weeks. Mandatory overtime may be required.

Hourly Pay: $20.70

Responsibilities:

1. Set up:
   • Read and understand schedule, BOM, SOC.
   • Perform all setup functions including selecting proper tooling, installing tooling, and ensuring correct resin.
2. Start up:
   • Position controls to SOC; activate extruder and drives; test initial product.
   • Make adjustments; verify product inspection.
   • Package product as per instructions.
   • Troubleshoot process; perform QC tests per SOC; validate process control.
   • Store finished product as instructed.
   • Enter data correctly into data collection system.
3. Tooling:
   • Identify tooling damage and wear.
   • Clean and return used tooling to stock.
4. Safety:
   • Maintain housekeeping duties; comply with OSHA and company safety requirements.
   • Know the location of MSDS, first aid supplies, fire extinguishers, and exits.
5. Qualifications:
   • Understanding of data collection systems (preferred).
   • Mechanical background.
   • Knowledge of metric and English measuring systems; proficiency with calipers, micrometers, rulers.
   • Basic computer and mathematical skills.
6. Position Demands:
   • Work in a manufacturing environment with temperature variations and potential dust, fumes, odors.
   • Wear PPE including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and adhere to dress code policies.
   • Physical ability to lift at least 75 pounds, work 12-hour shifts, and perform physical activities such as standing, sitting, reaching, climbing, and bending.
