Job description

Job Title: Slitter Machine Operator

Location: Kent, OH

Shift: 1st and 2nd Shift

Hours: Monday - Friday

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour to start

Slitter Machine Operator Job Duties:

1. Determine sequence of operations by studying Run Sheets, specifications, and work orders.
2. Prepare machine for production by staging rolls, cleaning the machines, guides, and floor.
3. Regulate machining by setting and adjusting controls.
4. Produce product by locating and setting reference points on work piece with rule, template, etc.; positioning or aligning work piece against stops and guides; operating equipment.
5. Maintain specifications by observing operations; detecting malfunctions; inspecting parts; adjusting machine controls; checking coat weight of product.
6. Resolve production problems by altering process to meet specifications; notify supervisor to obtain additional resources.
7. Ensure operation of manufacturing equipment by calling for repairs.
8. Maintain stock inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt of stock.
9. Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
10. Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
11. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

Manufacturing quality control, instrumentation, manufacturing experience, decision-making, tooling, problem-solving, judgment, and job knowledge. Previous slitter operator experience is highly preferred but not required.
