Job summary

Merchants Metals, a leading manufacturer and distributor of fence systems, seeks a capable production worker for our Texas operations. This role involves hands-on machining in a non-climate-controlled environment with exposure to hot summers and cold winters.

You will stand, walk, and perform physical tasks, operate equipment, and uphold safety standards while supporting a fast-paced production line. Company offers competitive pay and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, including significant heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move materials throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

• Move materials through the process tanks and zinc kettles.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, attachments, accessories, or materials on machines.
• Transfer metal into a furnace.
• Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
• Maintain the surrounding area, keeping the area free of debris.
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

?? Important Working Environment

This position works in a NON-CLIMATE-CONTROLLED manufacturing environment.

You will be working indoors and around manufacturing equipment where temperatures can be extremely hot during the summer and cold during the winter. Employees must be comfortable working in these conditions and performing physical work throughout the shift.

This is a hands-on manufacturing position that requires standing, walking, moving materials, wearing required PPE, and working around production equipment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Work Schedule: Monday – Saturday, as scheduled

Schedule: 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Hours: Employees average at least 40 hours per week and typically work no more than 50 hours.
