Overview
Manufacturing Operator position involving setting up and running machines, handling metal products, and adhering to safety and company procedures.
Responsibilities
- Utilize proper handling procedures to ensure metal products are not damaged.
- Ensure all material is properly identified.
- Report any non-conforming metal products.
- Set up and run machines to complete the required process.
- Work safely and use proper PPE at all times.
- Follow company rules, regulations and procedures.
Role Requirements
- Flexibility with schedule (ability to work overtime and weekends as required).
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to understand and interpret order requirements.
- Detail-oriented; ability to follow procedures and complete paperwork as required.
- Good math skills with proficiency in precision measurements.
- Ability to speak, read and write English.
- Ability to use tape measures and micrometers.
- Ability to use hand-powered tools.
- Attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- High School Diploma / GED. Technical degree preferred.
- 2-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (minimum of 2 years required).
Equipment Knowledge
- Working knowledge of machinery used in the metals industry (Burn Tables, Plasma Cutting Tables, Shear Machines).
- Familiar with ISO 9000 (a plus).
- Operate forklift / crane a plus – must pass evaluation before working independently.
Physical Demands
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Bending, stooping, and pushing.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (22.7 kg) occasionally, with frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. (11.3 kg).
