Merchants Metals LLC in Houston, TX is seeking a hands-on manufacturing professional to join our team. This role operates in a non-climate-controlled environment, with temperatures ranging from hot summers to cold winters.

The position involves standing, walking, lifting, and working around production equipment, complying with PPE and safety procedures. You will move materials, set up fixtures, monitor machines, and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or industrial environment.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment with extreme heat in summer and cold in winter.
• Physically demanding, hands-on production role requiring standing and moving materials.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work in a team-based, fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Move materials through process tanks and zinc kettles.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, attachments, or materials on machines.
• Transfer metal into a furnace.
• Inspect units for defects using precision instruments (e.g., micrometers).
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
• Maintain the surrounding area, keeping the area free of debris and hazards.
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

?? Important Working Environment

This position works in a NON-CLIMATE-CONTROLLED manufacturing environment.

You will be working indoors and around manufacturing equipment where temperatures can be extremely hot during the summer and cold during the winter. Employees must be comfortable working in these conditions and performing physical work throughout the shift.

This is a hands-on manufacturing position that requires standing, walking, moving materials, wearing required PPE, and working around production equipment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Work Schedule: Monday – Saturday, as scheduled

Schedule: 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Hours: Employees average at least 40 hours per week and typically work no more than 50 hours.
