Description

You will work closely with algorithm development teams to design and execute live test procedures, aggressor searches, user studies, and annotation pipelines to improve and influence ML algorithm performance and design. By focusing on end-to-end system performance, you will evaluate and represent the true customer experience while using a deep understanding of the various components within the models to test comprehensively and efficiently. You’ll also collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to consider system design and external factors that influence model performance. You will take pride in your work throughout every step of the development cycle, helping to make Apple products more flexible, reliable, and user-friendly.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE and at least 2 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong programming skills, with hands-on experience in Python.
• Experience testing products utilizing computer vision, computational photography, generative AI, machine learning, or related fields.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with partner teams.
• Commitment to fostering an open and inclusive work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Academic background in data science, machine learning, computer vision, and statistical data analysis.
• Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Experience with CoreML, Swift, and iOS/macOS ML development.
• Skills in data analysis, visualization, and reporting using tools like Tableau or Superset.
• Understanding of testing and quantifying the performance of sensing technologies like IMU, capacitive sensors, environmental sensors, light, motion, radar, optical, and acoustic devices, including evaluating user impact and performance.

At Apple, base pay is part of a comprehensive compensation package, with a range between $136,300 and $248,700, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Employees may also participate in stock programs, receive benefits such as medical and dental coverage, retirement plans, discounts, educational reimbursement, and potential bonuses or relocation support.
