Job summary

Hood Container Corporation in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a skilled Machine Helper to support our manufacturing operations at the plant. The role focuses on helping set up and run corrugated carton production lines, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

The position offers opportunities to advance to Assistant Machine Operator and eventually Machine Operator, with teamwork, detailed work, and adherence to safety rules.

Qualifications

• Possess necessary reading and writing skills.
• Able to read a ruler and perform simple fractions.
• Communicate effectively.
• Work overtime as needed to meet production requirements.
• Maintain an acceptable level of attendance and punctuality.
• Work in a hot atmosphere.
• Climb 2 to 3 stairs to machine platform.
• Demonstrate initiative and effectiveness in dealing with out-of-the-ordinary situations which may arise in the course of the job.
• Be a contributing participant in process improvement initiatives.
• Follow all safety rules and procedures.
• Experience with equipment operation and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture Corrugated Cartons.
• Responsible for the machine crews' daily activities, accountable for machine and crew performance as they relate to waste, efficiency, quality, and uptime objectives.
• Must be team-oriented, organized, detailed, and able to perform physical activities.
• Experience with equipment operation and safety guidelines.
• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends when required.
