Collective is seeking a seasoned IT engineer to own our hybrid IT operations in San Francisco. You will engineer and automate the Mac fleet, identity stack, and office network, while also handling the ticket queue and face-to-face support for leadership and events.

The role emphasizes automation, scripting (Python, Bash), and integration of IdP, SSO, Google Workspace, MDM, and ITSM tooling. You’ll partner with security and People Ops to keep systems secure, compliant, and available as we scale

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in IT support or IT engineering.
• 2+ years supporting a majority-Mac fleet.
• Sys admin and advanced troubleshooting for macOS endpoints; terminal proficiency (bash/zsh).
• Experience with Google Workspace, IdP/SSO, MDM, and ITSM tooling.
• Knowledge of SAML, OAuth, OIDC, SCIM and integrations.
• Bash/Zsh and Python scripting.
• Strong networking fundamentals: Wi-Fi, LAN, DHCP, DNS, VLANs.
• Advocate AI/automation to reduce manual work.
• Excellent problem-solving and calm under pressure.
• Strong communication with engineers, security and business stakeholders.
• Ticket-queue discipline and SLA adherence.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable IT infrastructure across identity, endpoints, network, and SaaS.
• Build and maintain automated onboarding/offboarding workflows.
• Develop internal tooling with Python and AI-assisted workflows.
• Serve as escalation point and implement permanent fixes.
• Troubleshoot macOS fleet beyond GUI; manage MDM deployment and OS updates.
• Administer IdP SSO, SCIM provisioning, and Google Workspace.
• Trace and fix provisioning across HRIS → IdP → SaaS; coordinate with People Ops.
• Manage office network, Wi‑Fi, VLANs, and documentation.
• Own IT projects end‑to‑end; liaise with security, engineering, People Ops.
• Provide white-glove on-site IT support for leadership and events.
• Write knowledge base and runbooks.
