Inherent Technologies is seeking a seasoned Mac Engineer to design and manage macOS device management at scale for Jersey City, NJ. You will lead lifecycle management, enforce security baselines, and integrate with enterprise tools while optimizing user experience.

The role emphasizes automation, scripting, and collaboration with security teams, focusing on onboarding, patching, and reporting, while mentoring junior staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of macOS end user engineering and administration in a large-scale enterprise (10K+ users).
• Minimum: Jamf 200; Preferred: Jamf 300.
• Experience with Apple Business Manager (ABM) and Automated Device Enrollment (ADE).
• Proficient in scripting: Bash, Python, AppleScript, Perl or zsh for automation.
• Strong knowledge of macOS internals, security, MDM, and zero-touch deployment.
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage macOS device management using Jamf Pro and Intune.
• Own lifecycle management of macOS devices including provisioning, configuration, patching, decommissioning.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and policies for onboarding, updates, and compliance.
• Partner with security to enforce baselines and enterprise endpoint practices.
• Lead troubleshooting for macOS hardware, software, and integrations.
• Mentor junior engineers and IT support teams.
• Monitor performance, document processes, and generate compliance reports.
• Stay current with macOS features and enterprise endpoint trends.
• Assist with architecture design and documentation for macOS device management projects.
