Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support clinical and clerical functions in a busy outpatient setting. The role involves assisting providers, collecting vitals, performing basic procedures, and coordinating with the care team to ensure smooth patient flow.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and a MA credential approved by the MA Department of Health. Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver certification required.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Department of Health (ARMA, NHA, etc.) required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests as required.
• Prepare and administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Assist in routine physical examinations and clinical procedures.
• Review lab results and communicate abnormal findings to physicians.
• Maintain clear communication with clinicians and prepare rooms.
