Job summary

Eaton Corporation seeks a Specialist, Acquisition and Divestiture Accounting to join the Global Controllership team at the North American HQ in Beachwood, OH. The role focuses on transaction-related financial reporting, purchase accounting, impairment assessments, and complex M&A accounting.

Collaborate with Strategy & Corporate Development, business finance teams, and external advisors to deliver accurate, audit-ready outputs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum five (5) years of accounting, finance, audit, financial reporting, valuation, transaction advisory, or related experience.
• Eaton will not sponsor immigration for this position; no CPT/OPT/STEM OPT, etc.
• No relocation benefit; candidates within 50 miles of Beachwood, OH considered; Active-Duty Military exempt from area limit.

Responsibilities

• Support acquisition, divestiture, strategic investment, and integration activities through financial reporting and transaction accounting.
• Prepare and analyze reports related to acquisitions, divestitures, integrations, and goodwill/intangible assets.
• Support purchase accounting and opening balance sheet for acquisitions, including schedules and accounting conclusions under U.S. GAAP.
• Assist with annual/interim impairment assessments for goodwill and intangible assets; coordinate with finance teams and valuation advisors.
• Conduct technical accounting research on M&A topics and prepare management/audit documentation.
• Support due diligence and divestiture accounting, including working capital analyses and post-close integration activities.
