Plante Moran in the United States is offering an internship in tax advisory and transaction services. You'll work alongside National Tax Office professionals helping clients navigate mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and other strategic transactions while developing technical tax and advisory skills.

This hands-on role emphasizes deal activity, clear communication of complex concepts, and exposure to due diligence, tax structuring, and client discussions.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, research, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Interest in mergers & acquisitions, transaction advisory, and tax consulting.
• Pursuing an Accounting/Taxation degree or related field; considering CPA licensure.
• Academic performance 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Prior coursework or interest in tax consulting or corporate taxation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consulting on tax issues related to restructuring, buying, or selling businesses.
• Conduct due diligence inquiries and prepare technical reports.
• Prepare projections of post-sale proceeds and tax benefits.
• Advise clients and attorneys on transaction structuring and tax aspects of agreements.
• Review transactions to document terms, tax characterization, and reporting attributes.
• Participate in client discussions and convey technical conclusions to teams.
• Engage with staff and clients to deepen understanding of tax advisory services.
• Gain hands-on experience in mergers, acquisitions, and transaction advisory.
