Job summary

Plante Moran is offering an internship role designed to immerse you in tax consulting and planning. From day one you’ll work on real client projects, building confidence in organizations large and small by informing their tax strategies.

You’ll receive opportunities to craft practical solutions beyond spreadsheets, with exposure to federal tax matters and multiple service lines across industries.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and research skills.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
• Intention to pursue CPA licensure; academic success with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Responsibilities

• Consulting on tax planning strategies to achieve business and individual tax objectives.
• Reviewing opportunities to optimize timing of tax income and deductions through accounting method planning.
• Evaluating tax planning strategies from legislation, regulations, and market developments.
• Researching technical positions and drafting memos and position papers for federal tax matters.
• Assisting with federal tax consulting projects involving corporate, partnership, and individual taxation across industries.
• Identifying tax planning opportunities and developing practical client recommendations.
• Assisting National Tax Office professionals with research and analysis of tax developments.
• Interacting with staff at all levels and with clients.
• Deepen knowledge in tax and tax consulting across service lines.
