Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is seeking an Associate, Corporate Development in San Mateo, CA, to drive strategic transactions and inorganic growth initiatives across Studios and Platform businesses.

You will build financial models, craft business cases, and present strategic rationales to leadership, partnering with cross-functional teams to advance deals from due diligence through integration. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

2+ years of M&A experience (investment banking, private equity, or corporate development).
Experience evaluating inorganic growth opportunities, including identifying key strategic themes and building financial models and presentations.
Strategic, quantitative, and financial modelling skills, including the ability to structure the rationale for M&A recommendations with data and valuation analyses.
Expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and PowerPoint.
Data savvy with the ability to identify key value drivers and communicate insightful, actionable recommendations.
Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication, and executive presence.
Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects at one time, and rapidly change priorities based on business needs.
Strong team-player.
Ability to work with multiple cultures and to tailor work style and messaging to function effectively across globally distributed management teams.
BA or equivalent preferred
MBA a plus
Experience working for a major video gaming or entertainment company a plus

Responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, and execute strategic transactions for SIE with business units.
Provide market insights to support strategy and M&A activities.
Construct business cases and prepare detailed valuation models for potential transactions.
Prepare presentations outlining the strategic rationale for transactions.
Participate in cross functional due diligence processes and provide project management from due diligence through signing/closing and into integration.
Present business cases to senior management for project approval.
Collaborate closely with the post-merger integration and operations team to ensure successful transaction outcomes.
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across SIE and across the other Sony businesses to facilitate discovery of opportunities and alignment on projects.
Support other adjacent areas within the team, including but not limited to investor relations & capital markets and strategy related projects.
