Job summary

Union Square Advisors is seeking an Associate in San Francisco to support mergers & acquisitions and other financial advisory services. You will build complex financial models, assist in due diligence, and help prepare client presentations under senior banker guidance.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in Capital Markets or investment banking, with strong Excel/PowerPoint skills and a commitment to a long-term advisory career at a leading technology-focused bank.

Qualifications

• Bachelors' degree from a leading university; MBA is required for candidates that were not directly promoted, or pending promotion, from Analyst to Associate within a leading Investment Bank
• At least 3 full years of experience in Capital Markets, Investment Banking or a Corporate Finance related role
• Direct experience in execution of M&A transactions preferred
• Very strong financial modeling/valuation and analytical skills
• Thorough knowledge of corporate finance and accounting, including M&A structuring
• Experience managing day-to-day execution of different projects and processes
• Ability to interact with clients professionally
• Outstanding ethics, integrity and judgment
• Intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic and desire to learn
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong PowerPoint skills

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain and review complex financial models and valuation analyses
• Manage day-to-day deal execution, interacting with senior deal team members and clients
• Assist clients in due diligence by coordinating information flow and meetings
• Produce high quality deliverables such as memorandums and Board materials
• Create pitch materials and refine client management presentations
• Coordinate bank resources and leverage industry knowledge for clients
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to Analysts
