Selby Jennings is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join its growing Mergers & Acquisitions team in New York. This role offers exposure to strategic sell-side, buy-side, and capital advisory transactions across various industries while partnering with senior bankers and clients.

You will work on live deals, build complex financial models, and prepare materials while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of investment banking experience.
• 2+ years in an Associate or Senior Associate role at a bulge bracket, elite boutique, or independent advisory.
• Strong M&A transaction execution experience.
• Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Execute live M&A transactions from initiation through closing.
• Build and maintain complex financial models, valuation analyses, and transaction materials.
• Prepare pitch books, management presentations, confidential information memoranda, and board materials.
• Conduct industry, company, and market research to support client engagements.
• Coordinate due diligence processes and manage communication with clients, counterparties, legal advisors, and other stakeholders.
• Work directly with senior bankers on strategic advisory assignments and transaction execution.
• Mentor and oversee analysts while helping manage day-to-day deal processes.
