Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in the Urology clinic, the LVN performs a wide variety of patient care activities to support patient care. Responsibilities include prioritizing and assisting in patient triage, preparing and assisting with urology examinations, administering medications, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, patient education, and assisting with rooming and vital intake when needed. The role requires initiative and the ability to work in a busy urology clinic, prioritizing critical demands and working effectively in a team environment. Additional duties include pre-procedure data collection, assisting physicians and the team during procedures, and supporting post-procedure recovery.
This position, within the scope of California and UCSD practice, administers medications, participates in patient and family education before and after procedures, assists with sterile processing of instruments, and manages room turnover, all in compliance with UCSD MCPs. The job standards are to be performed at an expert level.
Annual Full Pay Range: $71,410 - $88,782 (pro-rated if less than 100% appointment)
Hourly Range: $34.20 - $42.52
Compensation factors include experience, skills, knowledge, education, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. The posted pay scale reflects the budgeted salary or hourly range expected for this role, which may vary based on internal equity, budget, and bargaining agreements.
