Description

Under the supervision of a registered nurse in the assigned clinic, the Senior Vocational Nurse performs various patient care activities supporting clinic operations. Responsibilities include triage, assisting with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, preparing laboratory tests, and patient education. The role requires initiative, prioritization skills, teamwork, and independent judgment. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) issued by the state of California.
• BART or BLS certification at the time of hire, with a commitment to obtain BART within six months.
• Minimum two years of LVN experience.
• Knowledge of universal precautions and proper body mechanics.
• Experience working with a team to provide high-quality patient care.
• Ability to take initiative, prioritize demands, and work collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting.
• Experience with Oncology patients.
• Epic electronic medical record experience.
• Experience with prior authorizations and durable medical equipment.
• Excellent communication skills with faculty, team members, and patients.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $71,410 - $88,782 (pro-rated if less than full-time)

Hourly Range: $34.20 - $42.52

Compensation factors include experience, skills, education, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. The listed pay scale is the expected budgeted salary or hourly rate, which may vary based on internal equity and bargaining agreements.
