Scheduled to open July 2025, the McGrath Outpatient Pavilion in Hillcrest is a state-of-the-art, 250,000-square-foot medical facility dedicated to outpatient care, including cancer treatment and surgical services.

About the Role

UC San Diego Health is a Magnet designated organization, recognized for nursing excellence since 2011. Under the supervision of a registered nurse in the Neurosurgery clinic, the LVN performs various patient care activities, including triage, assisting with examinations, administering medications, collecting laboratory tests, patient education, and supporting clinical procedures.

The LVN will also assist with room turnover, pre/post-procedure data collection, and support physicians and team members during procedures, all within California and UCSD scope of practice.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) issued by California.
• BART or BLS certification at hire, with a commitment to obtain BART within 6 months.
• At least 2 years of LVN experience for the Sr. level position.
• Knowledge of universal precautions and proper body mechanics.
• Ability to take initiative, prioritize demands, exercise judgment, and work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in neurosurgery or specialty practice.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Special Conditions

• Availability to work various hours and locations as needed.
• Employment contingent upon background check and physical exam.

Compensation

Annual Full Pay Range: $71,410 - $88,782 (prorated if less than full-time)

Hourly Range: $34.20 - $42.52
