Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Licensed Vocational Nursing.
• Current California licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support.
• IV therapy certification within six months of hire for Senior LVNs.

Responsibilities

• Care for all patient types within the LVN scope of practice at AHMC Seton Medical Center.
• Assess and document initial and ongoing conditions; participate in interventions and care plans.
• Plan and initiate patient teaching for illness, including psychosocial support for patient and family.
• Participate in discharge planning from admission through hospital stay.
• Administer and monitor medications; perform venipuncture; document accurately in the medical record.
• Demonstrate leadership and effective communication with the health care team.
