Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Palm Springs, CA seeks a licensed practical nurse/licensed vocational nurse with nursing management experience to join our care team. The role emphasizes medication administration, treatment delivery, and adherence to facility policies under physician orders and infection-control guidelines.

The successful candidate will participate in quality improvement, educate families and patients, and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure timely care and rounds with physicians

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as LPN/LVN in California.
• One-year prior nursing management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Infection Control Manual.
• Participates in the Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for patient placement and monitoring.
• Notifies other Departments of patient changes (room changes, LOA, new admits, discharge).
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Administers medications timely and according to facility policy.
• Administers treatments timely and according to facility policy.
• Receives, transcribes, and carries out physician orders, if allowed by Nurse Practice Act.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

Objective

Provides nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and state, federal and local guidelines.
