Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Redding, CA is seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with management skills to oversee nursing operations in a long-term care setting.

The ideal candidate will have CA licensure, LTC experience, and familiarity with PointClickCare charting. Prior nurse management is preferred, with a strong focus on patient education and coordination with physicians.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as LVN in California.
• Compact license if working in a Compact state.
• One year nursing management experience preferred.
• Long term care experience.
• PointClickCare charting experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care within scope of practice per standards, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and guidelines.
• Administrates medications and treatments timely according to facility policy.
• Receives, transcribes and carries out physician orders as allowed.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.
• Notifies other departments of patient changes and admissions/discharges.
• Educates families and patients.

Job description

Objective

Provides nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and state, federal and local guidelines.

Principal Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Company Infection Control Manual.
• Understands, participates and assists in implementing the Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in the appropriate programs.
• Notifies other Departments of patient changes, i.e., room changes, LOA, new admits, discharge, etc.
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer medications timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer treatments timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates ability to receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders, if allowed by Nurse Practice Act
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as LVN in state California, if contract is in the state of Califonia. Have a compact license if working in a Compact state.
• One-year prior nursing management experience preferred
