Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• Texas RN license required or privilege to practice.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Three years’ experience as a licensed nurse.
• Teaching experience in a higher education nursing program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the success of the total teaching/learning process within the assigned nursing classroom, laboratory, clinical, or other learning environment.
• Schedule, supervise, teach, and evaluate students in the classroom and clinical setting.
• Promotes the use of critical thinking skills in clinical settings to enhance student learning and patient care.
• Plans and delivers course content, prepares lessons in advance, and communicates course requirements.
• Evaluates students fairly and objectively in alignment with institutional standards.
• Supervises, teaches, and evaluates students in the clinical setting with a safe, supportive learning environment.
• Communicates effectively in both oral and written forms.
• Builds positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Participates in curriculum development, review, and continuous improvement.
