Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse II at Terrell State Hospital to provide high-level nursing care for individuals with complex mental health needs. You will administer medications, perform procedures, and support RNs while promoting safety and recovery.

The role requires LVN licensure in Texas, graduation from an accredited LVN program, and 6+ months LVN experience; 12 months preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an Accredited LVN program.
• Licensed to practice as a LVN in Texas or with reciprocity.
• Minimum six months LVN experience; twelve months preferred.
• Experience with mental health care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Performs complex and technical nursing procedures.
• Trains and mentors new LVN staff on unit routines.
• Maintains patient records and documents in an electronic health record system.
• Collaborates with RNs and other clinicians to ensure safe care.
