Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum CA in Pasadena, CA is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse I to support the care delivery team. The LVN will perform moderately complex patient-oriented procedures under supervision and handle operational duties as required by site leadership.

Responsibilities include assisting in exams, taking vital signs, administering medications, and coordinating with RN/clinician. The role requires CA LVN licensure, BLS, and IV/blood draw certification, with room for growth and

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited LVN program.
Active, unrestricted LVN license from the state of California.
BLS certification or ability to obtain at the time of hire.
IV and Blood withdrawal certification.

Responsibilities

Direct patients to exam/treatment areas and prepare for examinations and procedures.
Obtain vital signs and patient information for the RN or clinician.
Administer medications and perform tests under supervision of clinician or RN.
Notify pharmacies of new prescriptions and refills as ordered by the clinician.
Collect, label, and transport specimens as needed.
Manage patient hospitalizations and bed days.
Maintain and clean exam/treatment areas and equipment.
Maintain logs and inventories of supplies.
Perform telephone screening and other assigned duties.
