Job summary

FullShift Staffing, LLC is seeking a licensed practical nurse to provide care within scope and ensure patient needs are met according to standards and physician orders. The role requires applying infection control, participating in quality improvement, and communicating patient changes to departments.

The candidate will educate families, administer medications and treatments per policy, and assist with physician orders and rounds as needed in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as LPN in state.
• One-year prior nursing management experience preferred.
• Long term care experience required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Company Infection Control Manual.
• Participates in Quality Improvement Program implementation.
• Uses Quality Life Manual for patient identification, placement, and monitoring.
• Notifies departments of patient changes (room changes, LOA, admits, discharge).
• Educates patients and families.
• administer medications timely per facility policy.
• administer treatments timely per facility policy.
• Receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders when allowed by Nurse Practice Act.
• Make rounds with physicians when necessary.

Objective

Provides nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and state, federal and local guidelines.

Principal Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Company Infection Control Manual.
• Understands, participates and assists in implementing the Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in the appropriate programs.
• Notifies other Departments of patient changes, i.e., room changes, LOA, new admits, discharge, etc.
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer medications timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer treatments timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates ability to receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders, if allowed by Nurse Practice Act
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.
