Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), seeks a Technical Support Specialist – Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) Lead, onsite at Norfolk Naval Station. You will plan, design, and execute Operational-level Fleet Synthetic Training events for Navy staffs, including distributed training across multiple Norfolk locations.

The role requires deep Linux/Windows familiarity, a current Security+ certification, and strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate

Qualifications

5 years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field; 3 years with Masters; 0 years with PhD/JD, or 9 years with HS diploma.
Familiar with Linux (command line) and Windows operating systems.
Current CompTIA Security+ certification.
Technical leadership ability during LVC event execution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of HLA and DIS distributed simulation protocols.
Familiar with networking concepts incl. TCP/IP and UDP.
Familiar with MS Office.

Responsibilities

Ensure sustainment team and event support personnel have valid standard configurations for trainers and capabilities.
Have an active Coalition network activation (NATO/JPN/FVEY) for partner nation training on coalition enclaves.
Monitor service disruption notices impacting training events and coordinate mitigation.
Coordinate with engineering for resource support and readiness.
Annotate travel hours and daily work hours for technical resources for Manning Plan.
Identify training architecture hardware/assets to avoid impact from updates/reboots.
Troubleshoot LVC system issues and ensure interfaces align with standards.
Report technical casualties per NCTE processes and escalate when needed.
Collaborate with event lead and engineering to meet mission requirements.
Develop event-specific diagrams using NCTE processes and notes.
Determine integration status of required trainers and capabilities.
