Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, seeks a Technical Support Specialist – Systems Engineer 3 to support Navy LVC training at NAS Oceana Dam Neck Annex in Virginia Beach. You will lead engineering efforts, install NTB software, and provide real-time technical support for NTB and LVC events.

The role requires 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s, or 9 years with a HS diploma, plus a US Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelor’s in related field; 3 years with Master’s; or HS with 9 years experience.
• Thorough understanding of Linux and Windows OS and related CLI capabilities.
• Technical leadership ability.
• Ability to triage and assign engineering work across domains.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable with stakeholders.
• Familiar with MS Office; must maintain documentation and reports.
• Current CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
• US Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Lead NCTE Fleet Synthetic Training and LVC events; align requirements with engineering leads.
• Install/configure NTB software releases, upgrades and patches.
• Provide engineering support for NTB setup during events.
• Diagnose and resolve moderately complex software problems.
• Develop manning/resourcing plans for NCTE training execution.
• Perform pre-event interoperability risk assessment and mitigation.
• Architect scalable systems and maintain DoDAF artifacts (SV-1/SV-2).
• Maintain technical architecture, documentation, and status reports.
• Monitor NTB product health during events to ensure training fidelity.
• Troubleshoot LVC environments focusing on NTB Interoperability, HLA/DIS interfaces.
• Deliver rapid real-time support to minimize impact on training.
