Job summary

Hamilton Jewelers in Princeton, NJ is seeking an experienced watchmaker/repair technician to uphold luxury service standards. You will perform battery replacements, diagnose components, and repair mechanical parts for quartz and automatic watches, maintaining case integrity and water resistance.

The role requires 2–5 years of professional experience and credentials from AWCI CW21 or noted factory training. Training, vendor sessions, and in-store collaboration are integral to this position.

Qualifications

• AWCI CW21 certification and/or factory training from leading watch brands.
• Minimum 2–5 years of professional watchmaking or repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Replace batteries across luxury quartz models while preserving case integrity and water resistance.
• Remove mechanisms from cases, examine components, and identify defective or worn parts.
• Repair broken or damaged parts using hand tools and machines; service quartz and automatic watches.
• Polish, clean, and adjust watches using professional tools, measuring instruments, and bench equipment.
• Inspect and evaluate product quality and workmanship to uphold luxury brand standards.
• Update repair status in the POS system; maintain organized, compliant company documentation.
• Attend scheduled staff training and vendor sessions to support ongoing skill development.
• Provide effective in‑store communication regarding repairs and activities affecting associates and store operations.

Luxury Watchmaker plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional client experience for both internal and external clients. You will uphold the precision, craftsmanship, and service excellence expected in a luxury retail environment. This position requires strong technical expertise in watch repair, battery replacement, diagnostics, and client communication.

Weekend, holiday, and peak‑season availability may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Replace batteries across luxury quartz models while preserving case integrity and water resistance.
• Remove mechanisms from cases, examine components, and identify defective or worn parts.

• Review and maintain knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets; adhere to proper use, storage, and disposal of chemicals.
• Provide accurate, valuable feedback to clients to ensure an exceptional personal experience.
• Inspect and evaluate product quality and workmanship to uphold luxury brand standards.
• Update repair status in the POS system; maintain organized, compliant company documentation.
• Manage internal client service issues promptly and professionally.
• Maintain knowledge of product lines and Hamilton sources.
• Attend scheduled staff training and vendor sessions to support ongoing skill development.
