Job summary

The Dewberry is seeking a full-time Valet in Charleston, SC. You will provide guests with a hospitable first impression, assist with luggage, park and retrieve vehicles, and drive the Dewberry Car program while maintaining security of the hotel parking area.

Ideal candidates enjoy interacting with people, have a clean driving record, and can work weekends/nights/holidays in a fast-paced luxury hotel environment. The role requires physical stamina and adherence to grooming standards.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to understand and follow directions, written and verbal.
• Ability to use technology to receive tasks and log work.
• Ability to read English to interpret luggage tags and claim checks.
• Exceptional guest recovery skills.
• Enjoy interacting with people in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain a well-groomed appearance.
• Weekend/night/holiday availability as needed.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Ability to enter/exit vehicles of various heights and sizes.
• Ability to park and retrieve vehicles.
• Meet physical requirements of the job.

Responsibilities

• Provide guests with a hospitable first impression and follow the 15-5 rule.
• Escort and assist guests with a smile.
• Open doors for guests and introduce them to the hotel.
• Explain the Dewberry House Car program to guests.
• Assist guests with luggage and manage claim tickets.
• Park and retrieve vehicles safely and promptly.
• Conduct daily audits of parked vehicles and maintain lot security.
• Log tasks using ALICE and ensure guests are charged for transportation.
• Support the Concierge team and keep Dewberry Bicycles in good condition.
