24 Seven Talent is seeking a Part-time Freelance Technical Designer in New York to own construction, fit, and technical documentation across the line. Qualifications

• 7+ years of technical design experience within contemporary or luxury RTW.
• Strong woven tailoring experience is essential.
• Expert knowledge of garment construction, fit, grading, and specifications.
• Experience leading fittings and communicating corrections to patternmakers.
• Strong understanding of the development process from initial sample through production approval.

Responsibilities

• Author tech packs and BOMs; own specifications end to end.
• Carry specs through PP sample and TOP sample approval.
• Manage product wear testing.
• Maintain version control across tech packs, specs, and sample rounds.
• Lead fittings, approximately three per garment.
• Translate the Creative Director's aesthetic direction into practical construction solutions.
• Partner with patternmakers to ensure fit and construction are executed correctly.
• Own grading, size charts, and clean flat-lay drawings.
• Serve as the technical liaison to domestic and overseas factories.
• Establish and maintain clear construction standards for factory partners.
• Troubleshoot construction challenges while balancing design intent, quality, and durability.
