Four Seasons Resort Hualālai in Hawaii is seeking a Purchasing Manager – Retail to lead all retail purchasing activities, optimize inventory, and build strong vendor partnerships that align with our luxury standards. The role reports to Retail Leadership and focuses on delivering an exceptional guest experience through curated merchandise and strategic sourcing.

The ideal candidate has at least three years in purchasing/procurement within hospitality or retail, strong analytical and negotiation

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, retail operations, supply chain, hospitality, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of purchasing processes, inventory controls, and vendor management.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with purchasing systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead all retail purchasing activities to ensure the timely procurement of merchandise and operational supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels, sales trends, and purchasing forecasts to maximize profitability and maintain ideal stock levels.
• Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships while negotiating pricing, product selection, delivery schedules, and service agreements.
• Collaborate with Retail Leadership to identify and introduce merchandise that aligns with guest preferences, market trends, and brand standards.
• Maintain accurate purchasing documentation, inventory records, pricing updates, and purchase orders.
• Analyze purchasing performance, inventory turnover, and retail metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
• Coordinate inventory counts, audits, reconciliations, and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Manage returns, damaged merchandise claims, vendor credits, and pricing discrepancies.
• Support a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and service excellence across the resort.
