Job summary

Neiman Marcus is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform upkeep and repair of store systems in Paramus, NJ. The role covers electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, generators, and related equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operations across the retail environment.

The position requires a formal degree in mechanical or electrical fields, 2–5 years of relevant experience, and the ability to multitask, lift up to 50 pounds, and work with contractors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical field from a vocational school or college.
• 2–5 years experience or 4 years apprenticeship or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical field.
• Background in building maintenance, electrical and HVAC.
• Must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric.
• Ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair and upkeep of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, doors, generators, fixtures).
• Carry out weekly preventive maintenance and safety inspections; log inspections.
• Order maintenance supplies and assist in managing maintenance expense accounts.
• Assist Regional Manager with capital planning projects.
• Maintain building energy management systems (lighting control via Trane Ensemble).
• Support store systems (POS and Telephone) and kitchen equipment as required.
• Respond to after-hours and emergency calls; overtime may be required.
